About Me
_My
name is Angela Nelson. This is my fourth year here at H.P. Baldwin High School. This year I taught English 10 first semester and am now rounding out the school year teaching my favorite class: English 9! I am also a class advisor for the class of 2014.
I grew up in the suburban/farming community of Dexter, Michigan. It is a relatively small town that boasts 200-300 per graduating class. I did many extra curricular activities in high school that ranged from soccer and track to playing the clarinet in our symphonic band and being the editor-in-chief of our yearbook. I graduated from Dexter High School in 2003. I then moved on to Eastern Michigan University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2008.
I moved to Maui in September of 2009 with my husband after he was offered a job that provided him more professional growth. It was a difficult adjustment at first, but now I can truly say that I love Maui!
Some other things that I love are: paddling (I paddle for Na Kai 'Ewalu), hiking, snorkeling, stand-up paddle boarding, the occasional small-swell surf, spending time with my husband and dog, Lilo, photography, traveling, and, of course, TEACHING!
The picture above is of me feeding some kangaroos at the Australia Zoo (the Steve Irwin Zoo) in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in March 2011.
