"Way Back to Palolo" by Stuart Ching
Synopsis: Stanley, Fred, Felipe, and Kawika live in Palolo Valley in Oahu. They are continually fighting the Kalihi boys and their leader, Bobby Castro. Kawika and his father live in a run-down shack in Palolo Valley. After they are evicted, Kawika decides that the best way to solve his problems is to fight. The story escalates to where Fred, Felipe, and Stanley have a choice: either go with Kawika to fight or choose to walk away. The story ends with Kawika telling Stanley "You no belong here no more." Stanley goes on to college and become successful, but he never forgets his roots, or Kawika, in Palolo.
